BATTLE FOR LORD MAYOR LUKWAGO’S SEAT

A FIERCE battle has erupted at Kampala Capital City Authority commonly reffered to as City Hall.With President Museveni ascending to the ‘KCCA amendment Act 2019’,the act has created a new position of  ‘THE SPEAKER’ and His/Her Deputy a position that has been for the Lord Mayor over the years.This Implies that The Lord Mayor will no longer chair council meeting.

With FDC having the largest number of councilors;about 20,it is common sense that they may take a lion’s share.Below are councilors eyeing the seat.

ABUBAKER KAWALYA

The FDC people power turned councilor eyes the position.He is known for splashing large sucks of money among KCCA councilors.Kawalya is eyeing Moses Kasibante’s seat come 2021.He’s one of the vocal councilors at City Hall and a brother to Kampala woman MP Nabirah Naggayi Ssempala,although Kalalya might not be a better choice for Lukwago of ‘Peoples’ government yet Kawalya subscribes for Bobi’s People Power.

DOREEN NYANJURA.

The beautiful,young and courageous Councilor triumphed NRM’S long serving councilor Bernard Luyiga to be declared Makerere Woman Councilor in 2016.She’s a ‘Peoples’government’ of Dr.Kizza Besigye where Lukwago is the Deputy President.Nyanjura is also one of the vocal councilors.Lukwago might opt to support her for her boldness and trust she possesses.

OLIVE NAMAZZI.

The bumpy and beautiful councilor hails from Kyambogo.She holds a masters degree and according to her campaigning Manager and also Nakawa councilor Mr.MOSES OKWERA,he told Kisekka that; I’m not after positions,I’m in support of Namazzi because she’s highly educated,transparent doen to earth,I know she’s a better candidate”. Namazzi is a soft spoken councilor who might give other councilors a run for their money.

KENNEDY OKELLO.

The Nakawa councilor is loved by many for his unique style of presenting issues at City Hall,He’s an FDC and People’s Government diehard,also Museveni’s critique. He sits on the Physical planning committee.He’s been involved in many battles to oust Mr.Museveni including the famous ‘TWERWANEKO’ campaign. Okello also sits on KCCA FC and UMI –Uganda Management Institute board.

BRUHAN  BYARUHANGA           

He cannot be forgotten for spearheading a petition that sucked the then Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago from City Hall with Hon.Frank Tumwebaze Kagigi.Although the NRM diehard would love to be the speaker,his chances seem to be minimal since KCCA has 18 FDC councilors compared to NRM’s few.

We have been informed that President Museveni might inject about 10 M to splash to councilors in order to vote for his favorite councilor Bruhan.

SSEGIRINYA MUHAMMAD

The Playful and funny councilor is the leading in missing council meetings.Although his popular,he’s accused of the electorates from Kawempe of neglecting them and concentrate on ditching sugar mummies from the USA.

*Ddamba Ismael Kisuze. (Amyuka sipiika) 58%.Kisuze is a vocal councilor from Lubaga South.A FDC  diehard who chairs the education committee at city Hall.
