The reason for the female orgasm has long eluded scientists. Men need them for reproduction; women don’t. So why do female orgasms exist? Scientists studying this issue are divided, said David Puts, a biological anthropologist at Penn State University. Some scientists think female orgasms are totally purposeless. But evidence suggests that they may have once helped (and perhaps still help) us survive and reproduce. One theory holds that women have orgasms because men have them, said Kimberly Russell, an ecologist at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Some researchers argue that female orgasms exist because as fetuses, we all start out with the same basic parts, regardless of sex. Orgasms in women, like nipples on men, just happen to stick around. Related: What’s an orgasm? “It might be an anatomical bonus,” she told Live Science. In this scenario, the orgasm didn’t evolve specifically for females, and it might not serve a specific evolutionary function for them. But there’s a problem with the argument that orgasms have no function, said Patricia Brennan, an evolutionary biologist at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. It’s not adaptive for our bodies to devote too much energy to traits, like nipples, that aren’t beneficial. These traits tend to disappear or become less pronounced over time. That’s far from the case for female orgasms, she said. According to the Kinsey Institute, female orgasms tend to last longer than male orgasms and can occur multiple times in a row — something that’s rare in men. In other words, female orgasms use a lot of energy for a trait that supposedly has no function, she said. Plus, there’s nothing diminished about the anatomical structures involved in the female orgasm, Brennan noted. The clitoris, a highly sensitive part of the female genitals that has a key role in orgasms, is homologous to the penis. Like male and female nipples, they grow from the same anatomical structure. But contrary to popular belief, Brennan told Live Science, “a clitoris is not just a mini penis.” The human clitoris has “structures that are incredibly well developed,” Brennan said. “To me, that screams selection.” There are multiple theories about how, exactly, the female orgasm helped our ancestors pass on their genes. Although women don’t need to have an orgasm to conceive, some research suggests that wasn’t always the case. Many female mammals, including rabbits and cats, ovulate only when they mate. Based on an analysis of how traits have been passed down through the tree of life, one study published in the Journal of Experimental Zoology found that our female ancestors probably needed orgasms in order to reproduce. But again, this theory doesn’t explain why orgasms stuck around in women, Brennan said. “If orgasms evolved for some adaptive reason, but they’re no longer adaptive, they should have disappeared. And clearly they haven’t gone away,” Brennan said. Some research suggests that orgasms still create the perfect conditions for conception — even if they’re not necessary to ovulate. One study found that women who had orgasms close to when their male partner did actually “upsucked” more sperm into their bodies compared with women who had orgasms much earlier or later than their partner. Scientists have even tried to draw correlations between the number of orgasms a woman has and the number of children she has. But the evidence for these hypotheses is shaky and doesn’t draw a direct causal link between orgasms and conception, Puts told Live Science. Plus, these theories leave a major question unanswered, Russell said. What if the orgasm has nothing to do with reproduction? What if, instead, it evolved only for pleasure? Sex doesn’t have to feel good for reproduction to take place, Russell said. “We know this from looking at animals! Sex can be very uncomfortable and still gets done,” she said. But culturally, the idea that sex might be for more than just babies is somewhat of a taboo topic, Russell said. Sex that feels good for both males and females has an important social role, Russell said. It relieves stress and helps partners bond. Ancestral humans might have engaged in sex to create more cohesive groups, smoothing over conflict and cementing their social network. We see these behaviors in other primates, like bonobos, who might use sex to help dispel a fight over a tasty piece of fruit or even a clan rivalry, the BBC reports. It follows from this argument that evolutionarily, female orgasms might have acted as a kind of social glue. That pleasure alone is enough to make a trait adaptive goes against popular conceptions of why sex, and orgasms, exist. But for Brennan, it makes perfect sense. “To experience pleasure — that seems evolutionarily like a good idea,” she said.
HON. MUTUUZO PEACE REGIS MINISTER OF STATE FOR GENDER AND CULTURE AFFAIRS
ON THE
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR THE PREVENTION AND RESPONSE TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE, AND FAMILY AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES DURING THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC IN UGANDA AT THE UGANDA MEDIA CENTER, KAMPALA
Dear Members of the Press, To further strengthen the directives issued by H. E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Ministry of Health in relation to the Corona Virus pandemic, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has developed a number of Standard Operating Procedures in line with its mandate. Today, I present to you guidelines to prevent and respond to Gender Based Violence. I will also offer guidelines to regulate Family and Cultural activities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
1) MEASURES TO RESTRAIN GBV
The world has registered a surge in domestic violence directed towards women and girls, and Uganda has not been an exception. The media has documented some of the human rights abuses that women, girls and children are facing in different parts of the country as a consequence of the pandemic. We have seen men turn against their wives and attempt to throw them out of their homes together with the children. Horrifying scenes of men beating up women have also been shared widely so social media.
In other incidences, pregnant women have been tortured and harassed as they desperately venture out to seek health services. Unfortunately our security agencies have been involved in these acts of violence. As a Ministry mandated to formulate policies and regulations to safeguard vulnerable persons, we condemn these acts of violence in the strongest terms and call for an end to this undesired behaviour.
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development therefore offers the following guidelines to ensure that violence against women is stopped and perpetrators are handled as per the laws. – All community members are implored to be on the lookout for early warning signs of GBV within their societies. This call goes to relatives and friends, neighbours, police, LCs, cultural leaders, Community Development Workers, and women and men action groups among others. – Once cases have been identified, immediately engage the victim/survivor in discussions about the situation. We need to advise anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help and support from Local Councils or community workers in your respective areas. – Immediately report the issue to the nearest Police Station/post. It’s everyone’s responsibility to break the silence and report cases of GBV to the nearest authorities. – Communities are also urged to refrain from cultural and community practices that promote gender inequality e.g. forced marriage and female genital mutilation. – Instead of using violence, choose to talk to your partner to address challenges in your family. The pandemic will come to pass. Let it leave your family with a stronger bond. Therefore let us talk and support each through this tough time. – Home is the safest place to avoid COVID-19 infection. Stay home and keep it a safe place for all your family members, women, men, fathers, mothers, children and relatives under your care. – Everyone has a right to a safe family. Stay at home and protect your family. – Security personnel enforcing the lockdown rules are encouraged to facilitate pregnant mothers access health services so that lives of both the mother and children are saved. – Lastly, I remind all of us to desist from being accomplices to this vice of Gender Based Violence but ensure that perpetrators are brought to book. Once again, I call upon all GBV actors including; the police at all levels, Local councils, Legal Aid providers, Health workers, Psychosocial support teams, Probation officers, GBV shelter staff, Community leaders, Community Development Officers, Courts of Law and the media to be proactive in protecting women, girls and all children against violence.
2) TO HELP FAMILY UNITS COPE WITH THE PANDEMIC, THE MINISTRY RECOMMENDS AS FOLLOWS;
a) Each family to create a COVID-19 Task force. The head of the family (the parent or guardian) will be the head of the family task force supported by other family members. The Head is generally responsible for coordination and mobilisation of all family members at home, their safety and strict observance of the mannerisms in relation to COVID-19. b) Some of the roles of the family taskforce will be to keep all family members abreast with information about COVID-19, ensure that members adhere to Ministry of Health regulations and keep critical contacts in case of emergencies. c) Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the stay home period to build better relationship with their children and family and also involve everyone in the family including children to plan for the family resources and prioritize the urgent needs. d) Respect the ban on visitations during the COVID-19 pandemic. No family member should be allowed to go visiting another family, even in the neighbourhood, and don’t allow visitors into your home. However, you are encouraged to constantly keep communicating to your family members elsewhere through telephones or social media or internet e) All home discos, cultural dances, plays and video shows, birthday parties that might attract the attention of the neighbours should be suspended immediately and keep social distancing even within the house. f) Family daily prayers while observing social distance are encouraged although inter-home prayers are suspended g) Every family member who purposely moves out of the home shall on return be made to wash his or her hands with soap as soon as he or she returns. h) The family taskforce members while observing the hygiene practices and other measures should ensure that the special category of family members are treated and cared for. These include; babies, children, older persons, Persons with Disabilities, the terminally ill and expecting mothers. i) Every village health team member or para social worker or local council executive member shall be responsible for tracking the happenings in at least one family at risk within a village.

The promoters should be arrested
4) FOR THE SAFETY OF CULTURAL LEADERS AND THEIR SUBJECTS, THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES APPLY WHERE CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS EXIST;

5) PERFORMING ARTS AND AUDIO VISUAL RECORDING STUDIOS
The Ministry extends its appreciation to all artists for the role they have played in sensitising the general public about COVID-19 through the composition of various songs and drama skits. Therefore, to ensure that safety is enhanced, the Ministry guides as follows; i. All entertainment events crowding people such as Theatre shows, comedy, dance, music and music bands, seasonal events, traditional regatta and games, film production are suspended. ii. Recording studios including those operating at home are not allowed to transect business with more than five people at a go. iii. All recording studios must provide the hygiene requirements stipulated by Ministry of Health. Lastly, All Artists/artistes must follow the Standard Operating Procedures provided by Government. I want to thank you. For God and My Country
Business Magnate Bill Gates is accused of ‘manufacturing’ Coronavirus (Courtesy photo)
William Henry Gates III more popularly known as Bill Gates is an American business magnate, software developer, investor and philanthropist. He is best known as the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.
I for one have always admired Bill Gates for his extreme generosity and philanthropy. He has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS and has sponsored researches geared towards finding a cure or vaccine for the scourge. Our RBM(Roll Back Malaria) program in Nigeria is majorly funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Foundation is also the major sponsor of the polio eradication program. His Foundation also helps to subsidize the cost of retrovirals and sufferers are able to get the medication free of charge from Government Hospitals.
I said all this to make you realize that this man has done much good for humanity with his enormous wealth.
Now back to the subject of discourse. What is the connection of Bill Gates with Covid-19? Now Bill Gates is at the forefront of developing a vaccine for Covid-19 and at the rate they’re going, a vaccine might be produced by the middle of the year. Now is finding a vaccine a bad thing? Not at all. My issue with his plan is how he intends to go about vaccinating people. Bill Gates aims to get every citizen on Earth vaccinated against Covid-19. And not just that alone, the vaccination will come with a digital ID that can track an individual. Gates wants to replicate the South Korean National tracking system saying “In Seattle, there are thousands of tests everyday but no one is linked to a National Tracking System” and that if there is a successful test, it should be recognized.
Bill Gates wants to use the Covid-19 vaccination process to introduce his Quantum Dot Dye Technology. These are Bio-implantable capsules that have digital certificates which can show who has been tested for the corona virus. Simply put, the vaccines will come in the form of digital capsules that will be tolerated by your body. They will be micro chipped into your system and will be retained in your system for as long as you are alive. Now these capsules will send information about your location, state of health and genetic information to a Control Centre. So from one location, every human on the surface of the Earth can be tracked and monitored. With these human implants, your Thoughts, Actions and Emotions can be regulated from a COMMAND CENTER. This will successfully transform free thinking human beings to some kind of Robots that God didn’t make.
Now what is the point of this post of mine? If you read Genesis Chapter 6 you will see the account of how Angels came down from Heaven and had sexual relations with the daughters of men and produced offsprings that were half men, half angels. These kids grew up to be giants. They populated the Earth and perpetrated and perpetuated extreme acts of evil and wickedness. They were Hybrids and not the Original seed that God created. So God had to send the flood to destroy the World. God did this and saved only Noah and his family because He seeks a GODLY SEED.
In the Bible, we are told about the MARK OF THE BEAST. And God specifically warned us against taking the MARK OF THE BEAST. I always wondered how Satan was going to pull this great feat of having people receive the mark. I dare say it is very clear now. With this Covid-19 vaccination process, Satan aims to achieve this feat.
Why is Bill Gates bent on making Covid-19 vaccination by force? I am a Doctor, we never force any patient to receive any treatment. Before any procedure is carried out on a patient, informed consent is sought. A patient or his relative must sign. You don’t force a treatment, surgery or vaccine on a patient. They want to make Covid-19 vaccination like the Yellow Card stuff for International travellers, where you tender the card as evidence of being vaccinated against yellow fever.
Amongst most African presidents, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has handled the COVID-19 pandemic excellently according to Eddy Kenzo who is still stuck in Cote d’Ivore after flights back into the country were halted.
Edrisah Musuuza, a.k.a Eddy Kenzo is a music gem across the continent. His influence spreads wide across and he boasts a huge following in most African countries.
Despite his power, money, and fame; the first Ugandan to win a B.E.T award has been stuck in Cote d’Ivore where he had traveled to perform at the Masa Fest on 16th March 2020.
Eddy Kenzo upon return to Uganda after winning the Viewer’s Choice award the the 2015 BET AwardsDespite being locked out of his motherland, Kenzo is very happy with how President Museveni has contained the situation in Uganda as the country has not registered any deaths but a couple of recoveries of the 53 Coronavirus cases that have been registered since 22nd March.
Through his social media platforms, Kenzo noted that in Cote d’Ivore, 533 COVID-19 positive cases have so far been registered with four deaths and people are still roaming the streets normally contrary to the Ugandan government which imposed a 14-day 7pm-6am curfew and a 32-days lockdown.
533 cases, 4 deaths in Cote d’ivoire. President museveni is doing a great Job. Bano abantu bagana okola total lockdown kati laba. Even some people are still working and public transport still working kati awo I don’t know how they are going to be in one month to come. Pray for us.

Sen. Bernie Sanders endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden for president on Monday during a livestreamed conversation between the two men, telling Biden “we need you in the White House.”
“I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse,” Sanders said.
The Vermont senator exited the Democratic primary on Wednesday, effectively making Biden the apparent nominee to take on President Donald Trump in November.
The endorsement was expected, though the timing was a surprise, and could give Biden a boost as he seeks to rally the party’s young liberals who backed Sanders in 2016 and again in 2020.
Biden called the endorsement a “big deal,” including to him personally.
“If I am the nominee, which it looks like now you just made me, I am going to need you, not just to win the campaign, but to govern,” Biden said. The former rivals appeared via split screen in an online conversation that lasted about half an hour.
Sanders’ endorsement of Biden comes far earlier in the cycle than the Vermont lawmaker’s 2016 endorsement of Hillary Clinton, who bested Sanders for the nomination that year.
By Kiss media African officials are confronting China publicly and in private over racist mistreatment of Africans in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, and the U.S. says African-Americans have been targeted too.
Some Africans in the commercial hub have reported being evicted or discriminated against amid coronavirus fears. And a U.S. Embassy security alert on Saturday said that “police ordered bars and restaurants not to serve clients who appear to be of African origin,” and local officials have launched mandatory testing and self-quarantine for “anyone with ‘African contacts.’”
That’s in response to a rise in virus infections in Guangzhou, the U.S. said, adding that “African-Americans have also reported that some businesses and hotels refuse to do business with them.” The U.S. statement is titled “Discrimination against African-Americans in Guangzhou.”
A recent increase in virus cases in China has been largely attributed to people arriving from overseas.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. But for others, especially older adults and people with health problems, it can cause severe symptoms like pneumonia.
The police and public health bureau in Guangzhou on Tuesday told reporters that officials had responded to rumors that “300,000 black people in Guangzhou were setting off a second epidemic,” which “caused panic.” Officials said the rumor was untrue.
Kenyan Tik-Tok queen Azziad: I received over 13,000 messages from Kenyan men a day after my number was leaked
Over the weekend Azziad Naisenya, a 19-year-old media school student was trending number one on Twitter, Facebook, and Whatsapp.
It all began after Azziad- aptly nicknamed the Kenyan tik-tok queen- took to Tiktok, jamming to Femi one x Mejja’s newest club-banger “utawezana”.
First it was about her looks and her mop of blonde afro.
And then her tiny waist which she was shaking so effortlessly, it looked detached from the rest of her body.
This was my first version😍😂 pic.twitter.com/glGDNMpsIM
— Azziad nasenya (@AzziadNasenya) April 5, 2020
And then the horror of the internet came calling just a few hours after her video went viral.
Kenyans on social media started a cancel-train on Twitter, digging up her old photos and accusing her of ‘using too many filters’.
” I do not know why people would dig up old photos because all of our photos from back in the day look different, it was very weird,” She told eDaily.
For the better part of the weekend, she was edited into all manner of videos and photos.
She was now the butt-end of all odd jokes on social media in country known for the most vicious pack of online trolls.
The fact that the new coronavirus has left a great deal of Kenyans free and idle did not make the matters easier.
On Sunday, she did a follow-up video, riding the coattails of her new clout and demanded in no uncertain terms, that her friends desist from giving out her personal telephone number.
After the short video, all hell broke loose.
Her telephone number was leaked on Twitter with the initial post gaining thousands of retweets.
But while the cancel gang was busy trolling her online, Azziad who is an on-the-come-up actress was dealing with a different breed of drama.
Her phone was ringing incessantly; on WhatsApp and on regular call. On Monday alone, she received over 4,000 missed calls. All Kenyan.
On WhatsApp, she could barely keep up with the stream of messengers craving for her attention.
She disconnected her data and switched off her mobile phone.
On Tuesday when she switched her phone back on, she had over 13,000 messages on Whatsapp alone.

Save from a few groups that she had been added to, the rest, over 9,000 messages were from strangers who had picked her number off the web.
“It is weird because they were making fun of me and at the same time, sneaking to my inbox to tell me things, it was horrible but funny at the same time,” she added.
On her regular SMS, you could scroll for five minutes straight without getting to the bottom of the thread.

Now famous and unbothered by her critics, Azziad tells eDaily that she recently landed a lead role on a soon-to-air Kenyan show.
When she finally graduates from school, she hopes to land a radio gig or become a news anchor.
With a full-time manager and millions of wild ideas in her head. The clock is already going tick-tock for this Tik-tok queen.

• Additionally, his body will begin to tense up. So if you have a hand on either his stomach or thigh or even in his hand, you’ll feel it starting to tense up.

CHINESE TO BE BANNED FROM EATING DOGS AFTER the unexpected coronavirus pandemic, officials in China are considering banning some Chinese who have had a habit of trading and eating dogs. The Chinese ministry of Agriculture released a list of animals considered a delicacy but dogs, bats and cats are missing on the list.Even before the pandemic, scientists and animal rights defenders were dissatisfied with the way Chinese and some countries were consuming dog’s meat,it is believed that coronavirus was spread through wild animals more so bats and pangolin. China’s ministry of agriculture said on Wednesday: “As far as dogs are concerned, along with the progress of human civilisation and the public concern and love for animal protection, dogs have been specialised to become companion animals, and internationally are not considered to be livestock, and they will not be regulated as livestock in China.”
The draft guidelines have been opened for a public consultation, listing 18 traditional livestock species acceptable to the national government – many of them more family meat to the Western world.
However the notice referred to 13 “special species” that would also be exempt from wild animal trading restrictions, including reindeer, alpaca, pheasants, ostriches and foxes.
Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro says coronavirus crisis is a media trick Far-right president has resisted strong measures to stop spread of what he calls a ‘little flu’
Bolsonaro says coronavirus lockdowns should be abandoned Brazil’s far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro, has accused his political foes and the press of purposefully “tricking” citizens about the dangers of coronavirus, as Latin America braced for a spike in the number of deaths.
The pandemic has claimed nearly 15,000 lives across the globe and looks set to exact a deadly toll on Latin America in the coming weeks, with many regional governments closing borders and shutting down major cities in a desperate bid to limit the damage.
But Bolsonaro has resisted such drastic measures, dismissing media “hysteria” over coronavirus and calling the illness “a little flu”.
Coronavirus: the week explained – sign up for our email newsletter Read more In a tetchy television interview on Sunday night Bolsonaro again downplayed the pandemic and attacked the governors of key states including Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo who have ordered residents to stay at home and are imposing quarantines.
“The people will soon see that they were tricked by these governors and by the large part of the media when it comes to coronavirus,” Bolsonaro said, as his own health officials announced 25 deaths and 1,546 cases of coronavirus in Brazil.
Bolsonaro claimed a wave of pot-banging protests, which entered their sixth night on Sunday, were a part of a media-backed plot to topple him.
“It is a shameless campaign, a colossal and absurd campaign against the head of state … They want to force me out however possible,” he claimed.
On Monday two opinion polls suggested widespread discontent with Bolsonaro’s behaviour.
Play Video Coronavirus: Brazilians protesting against Bolsonaro bang pots and pans from windows – video One, by the Brazilian pollster Ibope, found 48% of people in the city of São Paulo now considered his administration bad or awful.
Another, by the Datafolha group, said 51% of wealthy Brazilians and 46% of those with a university education were similarly unimpressed with his handling of the coronavirus crisis.
Eliane Cantanhêde, a political commentator for the conservative Estado de São Paulo newspaper, said support for Bolsonaro had not completely collapsed.
Bolsonaro and Amlo slammed for snubbing coronavirus warnings Read more “We have to recognise that many Bolsonaristas are still Bolsonaristas. I have friends with university degrees – lawyers, diplomats – who believe everything he says … A very strongly Bolsonarista bastion still exists.”
“But others – who voted for him [in 2018] but are not diehard Bolsonaristas – are starting to see clearly that something is wrong and that the president lives in a parallel universe,” Cantanhêde added.
In a column published last December Cantanhêde declared Bolsonaro not just the overwhelming favourite for the 2022 election, but “unbeatable”.
Now, she believes his reaction to coronavirus has shredded those hopes.
“I think he’s fatally wounded for the election [in 2022] … If the election was held today there is a big chance Bolsonaro would be defeated,” Cantanhêde said. “This was a watershed moment.”
